In the spring of 2020, two fawns (Weeble and Wobble) were born in our back yard. Our logo is a picture of Weeble running through the yard.
I recommend cleaning them with warm mild soapy water after use. Use a food safe oil such as Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner when ever the wood begins to look dry. If the wood gets rough or has scratches, you can always sand with 180-220 grit sandpaper and then re-oil. NEVER wash wood items in the dishwasher!
I started woodworking in high school over 40 years ago. Attention to detail and precision woodworking are hallmarks of my style honed over the past several decades. I delight in making high quality pieces without visible gaps. There's a certain joy in running your hands over perfectly joined and polished pieces - something that's difficult to find commercially - and that's a joy I hope to share here."

I like the Cross brand roller ball refills

We use traditional woodworking tools and machines. Additionally, we use a CNC router to help produce complicated designs/inlays/signs etc. Epoxy is used in many projects and some are pressure treated up to 60psi.
We use a broad variety of woods including 'soft' woods, hard woods, and exotics. We typically will have around 30 species of wood in the "wood room" at any time. David has also been know to salvage logs and branches from around the Black Hills and then mill them in the shop. The blue pine and pine branches used as legs, etc come from our yard.
No However, Running Fawn in technically a sub division of ER Investments, LLC. ER Investments is owned by my wife. I do all the word working and photos. We have no employees and answer only to ourselves and, of course, to our customers.
Running Fawn is based in South Dakota. All purchases with a shipping address in South Dakota require the payment of South Dakota sales tax. If the item is shipped to an address outside of South Dakota, sales tax is not required to be collected by the vendor unless certain financial limits are met or exceeded. This is called an economic nexus. For example, a nexus may require sales tax payments if sales exceed $100,00- or 200 transactions per year. The US Supreme Court established the ability for a state to collect sales tax from out of state vendors in the case South Dakota v Wayfair. THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE AND IS ONLY MY INTERPRETION OF CURRENT LAW.
Although you would not have to pay South Dakota sales tax (and no tax will be charged to you), many states require individuals to pay a use tax on purchases from out of state. Please see regulations for your state to find out if you are liable for taxes. This is not a legal opinion, but only my non legal understanding. Please check your state laws for definitive answers.
In general, yes. It is near impossible to sterilize wood. Keep your utensils clean. Wash frequently with warm soapy water and oil with a food safe wood oil. Do NOT use with raw meats
Absolutely. Our shop is located in western South Dakota and as a result, we have relatively low humidity. In areas with high humidity, wood will absorb moisture and swell. This can lead to cracking or warping. The best prevention is to keep a good finish on the item and to allow it to acclimate to your conditions slowly.
